Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST)

Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony is a unique feature set that is embedded in the software running on Cisco routers. It takes advantage of a remote office's existing network to provide multi-feature call-processing redundancy for centralized Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition deployments, in the event that the office's or the teleworker's home WAN connection is lost.

Integration

CallREC servers in remote locations are integrated with the centralized Cisco Unified Communications Manager Cluster using JTAPI integration. In order to provide full redundancy in SRST mode when the local Cisco ISR (Integrated Services Router) takes over the control of local phones, the CallREC Server in each remote location is configured to use Cisco SCCP integration with local Cisco ISR when connectivity is lost between the central location and branch-office site. When the SRST mode is used locally, the CallREC Server is recording the calls based on the SCCP signaling between the ISR and IP Phones. After the link between the central location and the remote site is restored, all recorded calls are synchronized to the central CallREC cluster.
