Recommended Hardware

ZOOM QM Suite products are platform independent and support any Intel and AMD based servers. ZOOM CallREC requires at least two network interface cards for recording. Other requirements vary depending on network design, planned load and especially on the count of simultaneously recorded calls.

Based on the customers call volume and quality (bitrate) requirements ZOOM technical sales will work together with the customer and recommend the correct specifications for hardware and storage to be used.

  • SMB/SOHO deployments typically require a single and small server installation.
  • Medium sized servers are recommended for SMBs and Enterprise customers where the server can serve for a single server installation or can be part of a CallREC cluster. External storage may be used based on the required capacity.
  • Large servers are targeted for Enterprise customers and complex solutions with multiple CallREC clusters. An external storage device or SAN is highly recommended.

Servers used for recording must have at least two NIC cards. The first NIC connects with the management interface. For passive recording, the recorder server must have a SPAN port connected to the second NIC. The SPAN port must provide all the RTP packets related to the calls being made.
